| Bio: | A choice between two things. The forked road every person brought into this world must eventually face. A crossroad. Whichever path they choose, they lose something. Whichever path they choose, they are unable to find happiness. But are there really only two paths to a forked road? No, there are infinite paths we could take. There is more than one path we should take. There is more than one path to the future. I wish I could claim that the above quote was original, but I can claim that it fits me, and the way I approach things in my own life. The madness to my method of happiness. I'm pagan, which is a disgustingly simple way of explaining the whole thing. As with so many other things in my life, I pull from a few sources for my religion, including Wicca, Discordianism, SubGenius, and quite a bit of my own random thought process. Despite being involved with groups like the discordians and the subgenius, I do take my religion seriously. I just tend to believe that the God and Goddess have a sense of humor as well, and I rather like to keep life entertaining. I'm solitary, in part due to the fact that I prefer a little less organization to my "organized religion", and just beceause I haven't found a coven that quite calls to me. I attend an open ritual every now and then, but other then that religion is kept rather personal and out of everyone else's face... I've recently begun study of the Feri tradition. So far the initial speculation into this path looks quite interesting. I expect I'll be hunting down books on this for the next while. Among my personal heroes and idols, are such individuals as Robert Anton Wilson, Ivan Stang, Budda, Alfred Korzybski, Richard Feynman, Ed Parker, Tom Robbins, Tenzin Gyatso the Dalai Lama, Jet Li, Kerry Thornley, Jackie Chan, and a great many other amazing atheletes and highly intelligent people. These are the people who's ideas bring me joy, who's thoughts make me smile, and who's words enrich the world that I live in. I'm a drummer, have been for almost 20 years now. Started when I was about 10 years old, and that same year won my first award for best drum solo in my age catagory. From there followed a long road of Drum Corps and a couple of local bands that I played with. As well as developing tendonitis in both my shoulders from marching around with a 60 pound drum on my shoulders, and then working out every night at martal arts class... Speaking of which, I've been a martial artist since I was 12 years old, 17 years now. Third degree brown belt in Ed Parker's Kenpo Karate. I've held that rank for the last 10 or 11 years, which is kinda sad really. I started learning the various and assorted changes we were making to all the old techniques and katas, and then I moved away from the school, so I didn't live just down the street anymore. I started going to the school that Mr. Moore ran in Boise, and just about started all over considering they did A LOT of things differently, and I had to learn all of his changes before I could test again. Then shortly before he left to go be a full time police officer for the Garden City police, I took off to train my own students privatly, and just spar with anyone I could get my hands on that wanted to. I'm back to studying under Mr. Mike Hagood, and the school now follows Dr. Paul Dye's version of Parker's system. I love to read, as anyone who has seen my library can attest to. At this point I'm slowly taking over the living room with my collection of books, since there is no way even remotly I could fit them all in my room.
